I appreciate Laura's passion for God's Word and her desire to study it every day. |

Pastor Jim: |
Sometimes we think that two people who marry have to be just alike. There are many things that must be shared goals for a marriage. In the case of Mary Beth and me, the thing that has been a constant and what I admire about her is that she brings to our marriage a different perspective on decisions and direction that is so valuable to me.
Mary Beth has at times challenged me, warned me, and frankly, kept me from making some decisions that would have hindered our ministry, personal life, and relationships with our children. The old addage is true: "Two heads are better than one." However, I would add, "Two heads that think differently are better than one."
This year we will celebrate 48 years of marriage, due in part to both of us being open to the other's ideas, no matter how different they might be, not focusing on our differences but on our share goals, and listening , listening, listening to what the other is saying. At the end of the day, I am thankful for the added and different perspective of Mary Beth. I love you even though you don't think like me, thank God!

My desire for 2013 is that the Sunday School Ministry will continue to grow, not for numbers sake, but so that we might have an opportunity to be a part helping people grow in Christ. | |
